MoJacks were full marks for this victory as they skated hard and finished off their checks. Lovering was sharp in the MoJacks net and could not be faulted for the three goals that got behind him. However, after the final game, the teams stayed on the ice to shake hands and several players who had been running each other into the boards throughout the series ex- changed personal con- gratulations at centre ice. For five MoJacks, it was the last game in a Port Perry uniform as they will be ineligible next season because of the age restriction. The older Cadre "In- dians" of Jason Fed- dema, Scott Koogje, Michael Brobbel, Harley Wonder and . Doug Adams won the 3rd place trophy in the *'B" group competition against 12 other teams. Their "cliff rescue' test and "com- pass reading' tests were very well done. With these 2 high stan- ding finishes, the club had a higher total average of points than did the other clubs from 7 other churches from Peterborough, Lindsay, Bowmanville (2), Oshawa and Whitby (2). The counsellors of the boys are proud of their club in winning the challenge trophy for the 2nd year in a row. Despite the loss to the Eagles in five games, the 1984-85 season was a respectable one for the MoJacks. They finished in third spot ahead of some pretty good teams in the league standings and then knocked off a very tough Little Britain squad in an exciting seven game quarter final. Brian Nicholson had an outstanding year winning both the league scoring championship and the MVP. The loss of two defensemen midway through the season forc- ed the MoJacks to go with just four rear- guards the rest of the way and Brian Nicholson was also used a lot on the point. Rob Malcolm went out at Christmas with a knee injury and rookie Kevin Trapp was just beginn- ing to come into his own in the league when he suffered some serious health problems. Big Vaughan McKee also played hurt much of the year with shoulder and knee injuries. Although the playoffs are over, the MoJacks still have some hockey left this year as the team will tackle the Little Bri- tain Merchants in an ex- hibition game in March at the Cannington Winter Carnival, and later in March will face off against the original Junior C's at the Scugog Arena.
