At the six 'minute mark, Brad Flaxman narrowed the score to 5-2 as he took a pass from the faceoff by Scott Wallace and slid a qui shot along the ice. But 28 seconds later, John Young defl a centering pass behind Harman to give Eagles a 6-2 lead. Eagles were on the power play at 11:48 when Heard notched his third goal of the evening to make the final 7-2. While the Eagles look- ed very sharp in this game with crisp passing and plenty of hustle at both ends of the ice, the MoJacks were sluggish. The line of Jeff Butter- worth, Jeff Duncan and Mike Brown or Rob Sedore, has not seen too much action in this series, but when they were on the ice, they worked hard and did some bumping in the corner. The Eagles successful ly contained league scor- ing champ Brian Nicholson by standing up at the blue line and forc- ing shots from well out. Nicholson seemed to be fighting the puck much of the game. In Saturday night's 4-2 loss in Port Perry, the Eagles jumped into a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Scott Heard and Mark Hickey, who have both had superb series . against the MoJacks to date. . Although the Eagles Eagles take = 3 games took a 3-0 lead at 5:07 of the second, the MoJacks found some spark in this period and it may have been the best 20 minutes of hockey for Port Perry in the series. Scott Wallace scored at 10:06 from line-mates Brad Flaxman and Paul Butterworth and two minutes later Wayne Snodden found the cor- ner after Vaughan McKee worked hard to control the puck deep in the Eagle zone. MoJacks out-shot the visitors 18-8 and with a little good fortune could have taken the lead. On one play, the puck came to rest behind Eagle goalie George Kennett, but stopped right on the goal line. The Eagles simply slowed the play down in the third period and scored once at the 9:10 mark when Darryl Rowe found the range from in close. Although tempers flared somewhat in the dying minutes of this game, the series has been relatively tame with both teams sticking pretty much to hockey. If the MoJacks want to extend the series beyond four games, they will have to find some way to get their scoring attack on target. They have not had a lead in any of the three games, and trying to play catch-up hockey against the Eagles is nearly an impossible task. Game four at the Scugog Arena goes at 8:30 Wednesday evening and if the MoJacks should win, the teams will be back in Bowman- ville this Friday night for a 7:30 face off.
