PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1985 -- 23 Bill Down hot in 5-0 victory "Bill Down" - 5 Oddfellows - 0 Due to Goreski's par- ticipation at a tourna- ment in Seaforth this past weekend there were only two league games played on afternoon. Sunday Utica's Bill Down pull- ed ahead of Goreski's Alex Shelemba in the league scoring race as he accounted for all the scoring in Utica's 5-0 shutout of -Oddfellows. Brother Murray aided him as much as possible as he picked up three of the five assists. Marcel Martin and Chester Down took credit for an assist each to round out the points total. In the other game, Brian's kept Emmer- son's winless streak roll- ing to nineteen games as they edged Emmerson's 2-1. Ron Davey got Em- merson's on the board first early in the opening frame on an unassisted effort. The lead lasted until 20 seconds into the second when Jim O'Neill and Ken St. Amant com- bined for Brian's tying goal. Three minutes later O'Neill set up Joe Defillipis for the winner. This coming Sunday rounds out the 1984-85 broomball schedule as Blackstock hosts Brian's; Emmerson's is up against Oddfellows; and Utica and Goreski's lock heads to battle it out for first place. Utica needs a tie to settle the issue as they're beaten Goreski's twice and tied once to date this season. If Goreski's should win, the Goreski"s - Blackstock game of last Sunday will have to be played before the playoffs start. Utica at this time stands in first with 33 points, and Goreski's have 30 with a game in hand. Pins and strikes and the bowling lanes TUESDAY NIGHT MEN'S BOWLING Section Winners: Ford Lovers.
