AX. -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1985 Tis the season for happy family gatherings Nestleton Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker Eventful Saturday, December 29, Community Items with approximately one Colin and Jean Kemp, hundred guests present Nestleton, had a lovely buffet supper at their home before the New Year's Eve dance held in the Nestleton Communi- ty Centre. Those present were: Skelton, Bill and Donna Linnington, Mike and Pat Dearborn, Peter and Carol Evans, Roger.and Gail Hiemstra and Millie Thorpe. Mrs. Millie Thorpe of Edmonton, Alta., has been visiting in Nestleton with granddaughter Gail and Roger Hiemstra, Linda, Erica and James, for the Christmas season - a period of two weeks, returning home on Fri- day last. . Mrs. Minnie Fisher of Caesarea, had an en- joyable Christmas with son Delton and Marge Fisher and Scott, at their home at West Hill. The following Saturday' Min- nie accompanied Delton and Marge to London, to visit Barry and Frances Fisher, Leanne and Susan. A festive family party! Ray and Dorothy Car-' son of New Liskeard, have been spending a relatives within the vicinity. . Edgar and Anne Emerson, Nestleton, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Ken and Pat. to. help celebrate this ~, Mr joyous occasion. The . festivities were held in 'their -lovely old farm planned. and home -- hosted by their family - lan and Carolyn, Chris and Maura, Greg and Heather, Doug and Anne's sister, Gwen Griffith. Delicious food was in abundance about the spacious home. Wherever you went, you could sample another e of some sort - made by the family - a very elegant party! Guests were present . from many points about the Province and elsewhere. Our "warmest wishes' for oy more celebrations Edgar and Anne!' oe Vine, Blackstock, hosted a family tmas dinner for the ily and all 'were able to be present. Guests were: Chris and lyn Vine, Billie and Steven of Caesarea, Herb Vine and Lorraine Agnew, Tom and Laurel Hansen, Oshawa, Mike - Jordan, Arlene who has attending College in -- few days with parents ~" Graceland, Iowa, US.A., George and Ella Bowers of Nestleton, and other and Debbie was home from Toronto General Hospital - returning after the family party to the hospital for skin grafting on her injured hand. Dorothy and Ray drop- ped in for a visit. A fine get-tog Grahame and or Fish entertained 17 guests for Sunday, December 30 - dinner and supper - at their country home. Present - for the occasion were: ./Mr. and Mr. Dan Corby . "and Paul, Blackstock, 'Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fish, Lisa and Laura of Oshawa, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Jacobs, Deanna and Rhonda, Blackstock, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Smith, Penny and friend, Hampton, A great 'Yuletide party! Congratulations to Neta and Grahame Fish on celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary on Saturday, December 29. Best wishes to a wonder- ful couple! : . Sunday dinner guests with the Sam Cawkers of Scugog, Point Road, were: Grant and Merna . Cawker, Chris and Cathy of Oshawa. Boxing Day dinner guests with Grant and Helen Campbell, Nestleton, consisted of all family members- Karen and Bruce Williamson, Christopher and Heather, Brantford, Rod and Debbie Camp- bell and Sheena, of Ajax, and Rick and Sharlyn Campbell, Alisa and Der- - rick, Nestleton. For Christmas Day- Jim and Evelyn Souter, Scugog Point, had a nephew for dinner whom they raised from the age of seven years, Kenny Wilson of Scarborough. Doreen Rush and family dropped in during the day - daughter Susan and son John. Husband John was in bed with the nas- ty flu which is going around. Glad to know that Doreen"s mother, Mrs. May Seeney is be- ing released from the Hospital next week. We wish her the best! Mark and "Kathy Malcolm and family, Janetville, hosted the Malcolm clan for the Christmas celebration on the big day. A good friend, Gary Robinson, Nestleton, was a guest at the Cawker farm on New Year's Day. We welcome him back fiom his holiday in U.S.A., and Gary's "small engines" is open for business again! The Sam Cawkers en- joyed New Years Eve with David and Regenia Walker, Avril and Kyle at their lovely home, Scugog Point. A very enjoyable New Year's Eve dance was held in Nestleton Com- munity Centre, with a good crowd on hand to enjoy the festivities. A hot and cold buffet was of interest at midnight. Herb Vine and Durham County upplied the musiéN\To\ ring in the New Year, horns and balloons and lots - of "hoopla" welcomed 1985. This fine evening of fun .was sponsored by the Nestleton Hall Board. Grahame and Neta Fish were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Clare Snodden of Sunderland, - on Friday evening. Next Suriday at 11 a.m. " Rev. W.H. Crawford and Mrs. Crawford had a quiet Christmas - both had colds - Mrs. Crawford has sufficient- ly recovered and is presently visiting her sisters. in England. We - will hear more about her trip when she returns. - Nestleton Unjtéd Church At Nestleton United, a smaller congregation than usual - due to many being away, sickness and - so forth. Malcolm, on Thursday, January 10 at "1:30 p.m. This is a plan- ning meeting for thé New Year - a few major deci- sions to be made.
