Blackstock and area were shocked and sad- dened to learn of the tragic traffic accident on Tuesday that claimed the life of Mrs. Sharon Goslin within a short relatives. Better health is wished to Bill Johnson and Earl Bradburn whe are pa- tients at Port Perry Hospital. Glad to report that Miss Hazel English has returned to this area after spending the last two months with her niece Mrs. Shirley Sim- mon in Downsview. Miss English is presently in the Port Perry Villa and would appreciate any visitors especially in this festive season. Sunday dinner visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mahaffy were Mrs. Joan Mabhaffy and Sandra, her mother Mrs. Victor of Oshawa; Mr. and Mrs. university and college students are returning home for Christmas. On Saturday, December 15, Pathfinders Julie Byers, Jennifer Fletcher, Heather Rowntree, Lorie Swain, Vicki Schryburt and Lisa Duchemin along with their leader Beth Schryburt, enjoyed riding the GO Train to Toronto. While in Toron- to, they skated at Nathan Philip Square, toured the Simpson's Lego Land, "Eaton's Centre and China Town, and had supper at Mr. Grumps. Their only regret was that Elaine and Esther Kelly, Sharon Dyer and Percy Van Camp, Mrs. Mabel Cawker and Miss Kathy Morten who received their Bicenten- nial medals last Sunday. Mrs. Ethel (Greer) Bryan celebrated her birthday recently. Mrs. Bryan who is nearly 100 is the oldest Cartwright Township resident. Seagrave UCW ladies entertain at nursing home Seagrave and Area News by Liz Smith The Seagrave UCW entertained at the Port Perry. Nursing Home on the afternoon of Tues- day Dec. 11th. The Rev. A. Rodgers led the Christmas story in scripture and song, with Fern Tobin at the piano. The scriptures were read by Margaret Hunter, Gertie Wana- maker, and Mildred Puckrin. Rev. Rodgers and Fern Tobin sang a duet called "Redeeming Love," accompanied by Barbara Short on the piano. Cookies and tea were served at the social time, and a sing song was held. The Playgroup will be having a Christmas party on Wednesday Dec. 19th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. All pre- schoolers are welcome. Everyone enjoyed the 111 5 Yr.
