December 11, 1984 -- 23 Atoms win On Wednesday Dec. 5 the Malmont Farms Atoms travelled to Pick- ering Village to play in a league action game. Although the Green Machine appeared to be really tired from their previous weeks games they managed to come away with 2-0 shutout victory. The first period saw lots of end to end skating but neither club could put the puck in the net. In the second period Brad Moase got the Green Machine on the scoreboard with the assist going to Chad Garvock and Jason Cochrane. At 5:36 Duane Empringham found the mark with the assist going to Jeff Parry and Steve Laird. In the third period both clubs skated hard but again could not put the puck in the net. Special note to Andrew Pere- man who stood between the pipes for the full game earning the shut- out and even saw his first penalty shot of the season. On Friday Dec. 7 the Malmont Farm Atoms hosted Lindsay in another league action game and managed to squeak by with a 43 victory. In the first period Jeff Parry open- ed the scoring on a nice passing play from Peter King and Duane Empringham. At 4:08 Brad Moase scored with the assist going to Jason Cochrane.
