What a wonderful season. Mr. Ross Alsop has been in Oshawa Hospital for the last two weeks. Your friends are thinking of you Ross and just waiting for the word that you are feeling much better. Last Saturday evening relatives and friends gathered at Mrs. Bryan Beacocks who hosted a baby-to-be shower for Mrs. Gordon Beacock of Greenbank. Anyone who lives in ) Albert and is in ades seven, eight and nine and would like to join the fun with the Prince Albert Youth Club, please phone 985- 3143. Our next event is a Dance on Dec. 14th. All parents of the members are reminded that they must take a turn chap- eroning the events. Without proper super- vision being present the club will have to dis- band. Thursday evening was the weekly euchre night with eleven tables filled. The Ladies taking home a prize - Betty Boose, Isie Pogue and Marion Bell. Men - Frank Andrews, Marlene Skinner and Gus Plitz. Lone hand series winner Percy Griffin with lucky 13. The Couples Club Christmas Dance will be held on Saturday night at the Community Centre. The committee 'report that all tickets are sold. Sorry if you missed getting yours. On Sunday at Church the First Advent Candle - Joy - was lit by the Doug McMillan family. A few dates to remember: Dec. 9th - Church 11:30 a.m. Church School Concert at 7 p.m.; the theme "Christmas, What's It All About?"; Tuesday December 11th - UCW meeting at Myrtle Snel- groves. This is for all ladies of the church. It will be held in the form of a pot luck supper at 6:30 with gift exchange and devotion. Sunday Dec. 16th - Family White Gift Service at 11:30 a.m. Operation Scugog has asked the Prince Albert Church to look after 3 families at Christmas with food and gifts. They are two families of 3 and 4 adults and a family of 4 with 2 boys ages 16 and 14. If you would like to help with any food or gifts, they can be brought to the church the next two Sundays. The UCW Women are having their Christmas meeting and party on Wed. Dec. 12th at 6:30 p.m. at Myrtle Snel- groves, being hosted * y Myrtle and Eva. Bring a friend and it is pot luck. Officiating the ceremony was the Reverend John Mont- gomery of Little Britain, cousin of the bride. The bride is the daughter of Earl and Shirley Elliott of Ux- bridge, Ontario. The groom is the son of Ken and the late Evelyn - Watson of Dollard Des Ormeaux, Quebec. Escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a full length organza over taffeta gown featuring a sheer panel trimmed bodice embroidered with seed pearls, long fitted sleeves, a high neckline and attached chapel train with lace ruffles, a matching headpiece of lace and pearls held a cathedral length veil of silk illusion with chan- tilly type lace trim. She carried a bouquet of red roses, pink carnations, baby's breath and ivy. Mary Parish of Ux- bridge, friend of the bride and maid of honour, wore a rose pink floor length taffeta gown. The groom wore black tails with a red rose as a boutonniere. Best man was David Lynch- Salamon of Toronto, ushers were Ken Wat- son, brother of the groom, Ian Thomson of Newmarket, Frank Szalai of Cornwall, friends of the groom, all wore pearl grey tails with pink and burgundy carnation boutonnieres. Organist was Linda Hunter of Greenbank and soloists were Anne St. John and Ron Parish of Uxbridge. The bride and groom left the church for the home of the bride's parents, where a horse and MacLauglin buggy awaited for photo taking. The reception was held at Uxbridge Rec- reation Arena with Janice Smith, friend of the bride from Guelph, Ontario, as Mistress of ceremonies. Prior to the wedding, imany lovely showers were held by friends and relatives in Ontario and Quebec.
