The first annual night school open house at Port Perry High School will take place Nov- ember 13, 1984 between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. The general public is invited to have coffee with us and view the creations and skills of those en- rolled in the night school programme. Presently there are 15 adult courses being attended by approximately 250 people. Later, all gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Beacock, Greenbank, where delicious desserts were enjoyed. Guests were present from Oshawa, Seagrave, Orillia and Port Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jeffrey, Millbrook made calls on their Jeffrey brother a day last week. The Pool Group (9 men) commenced their winter time sport again for the season at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martyn. Thursday evening was the weekly card night with twelve tables filled. The winners for the evening- Ladies- Mary Poots, Bessie Acton, Doris Rohrer. Men- Caroline Hough, Marlene Skinner, Sandy Moore. Better health is wished for some of the euchre players. We are thinking of you and hope you will all be able to join in with your friends soon. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith have returned from North Carolina where they spent nine days with their daughter Shirley and Howard Garvey. Ben and Florence were taken out to dinner one evening to celebrate their 56th Wed- ding Anniversary. Belated congratulations from your friends in Prince Albert. Mrs. Pearl Gostick spent a week in Florida with her son Gordon and Agnes Gostick. Mr. and Mrs. Brad- burn of Blackstock were dinner guests with Les and Grace Beacock one evening last week. Time is drawing close for the benefit dance and draw for Matthew Geer. If you haven't purchased your tickets on the draw, there are still some available. Would you please get your money and ticket stubs returned so the girls can make a tally on the money taken in. A reminder to the Sun- day School children eight and over- please be at the church Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. to practise the Christmas music.
