Think of all that plum pudding, turkey and pie... PORT PERRY STAR -- Tues. October 30, 1984 -- 17 Village ready for Turkey Supper Seagrave and Area News by Marilyn Beacock Lots of village folks are hustling and bustling around making last minute preparations for our annual Turkey Sup- per which will be held on Wednesday, Novemer 7th at the Seagrave United Church, beginn- ing at 3:45 p.m., with subsequent sittings at 5:30, 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this fall feast of hot roast turkey, plum pudding and tempting home-made pies may be purchased from members of the Board of Stewards or the Elders. A feature of our turkey supper is that for shut-ins or some of our elderly folk who do not feel up to attending, we do provide take-out service - for more information on this please contact Betty Somerville at 985-8066. We extend sympathy to Mrs. Heather McWilliams, her hus- band and family upon hearing of the death of her grandmother Mrs. Jessie Robertson last week. The late Mrs. Robertson was a well- known and respected lady in the Port Perry area and made a great many friends through her organization of many bus excursions to many points of interest and her deep involvement with various community activities. Dr. Matthew Dymond is certainly a well-known and popular personality in this area and you will have an opportunity to enjoy his eloquent style of oratory at the 88th An- niversary Services of Greenbank United Church on Sunday, November 4th at 11 a.m. where he will be featured as the guest speaker. Do plan to attend. The auction sale at the farm of Mrs. Iva Till was held last Wednesday and was apparently quite well attended. Mrs. Till and son Donald have sold the property and will soon be taking up residence in Oshawa. Their many friends wish them happiness in their new community. Best wishes from Seagrave Community are extended to Bill and Karen Sorenson, Michael and Melody who have sold their home in Mariposa Estates and will be making their home in Fredericton, N.B. Tickets for the bus trip to Yorkdale Shopping Centre are going fast. The bus will depart from Seagrave United Church parking lot on Saturday, Novmber 3 at 8:30 a.m. SHARP and will arrive back here about 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be pur- chased from members of Chris & Mike Allen ALUN) "RAINBOW ROOMS" Prices start under $3,000. ~ OUR SERVICES INCLUDE: ® Siding ® Soffit ® Fascia ® 5" Seamless Eavestrough ® Shutters ® Awnings ® Replacement Windows ® Patio Doors & Storms Retail Sales Available for the Handyman - Cash & Carry "Free Estimates for supply & install."
