Bridge Club takes on a name, and novice members welcome On Tuesday afternoon October 23rd, Emiel's Place was the scene of an Autumn Bridge and dinner. Thirty-six ladies enjoyed several hours of competitive bridge. followed by a social hour; then a superb dinner. During coffee Kathy Kroonenberg graciously presented the bridge prizes, assisted by her friendly and competent co-hostess Joanne Fowler. The worthy winners were: First- Marjorie Jackson with 7140 points. Second: Jean Coleman with 6100 points, and Third- Doris Phinney with 5700 points. A number of thoughtful- 'y chosen door prizes were also drawn and presented to other lucky guests. On behalf of everyone present "Hoppy" Carn- with warmly thanked the hostess. She ex- pressed the hope that the Spring and Fall 'Bridge and Dinners' might become annual events, in which case they would be eagerly anticipated. During the social hour the proposed Duplicate Bridge Club was dis- cussed at length. Those promoting it were pleased and encouraged with the enthusiastic re- @e Hearing c Add sponse. In .view of this, commencing Tuesday, November 6th, there will be both afternoon and evening Duplicate Bridge sessions every Tuesday in Emiel's Banquet Room until further notice.
