Jeremy's mother, Jane, is tremendously pleased with her son's progress. '"He's only been riding for less than two months and already his co- ordination is improv- ing", she says. Several handicapped students like Jeremy had a chance to show off the results of the riding program last Sunday when the stables on Durham Road 57 hosted an open house. About 50 cars full of people showed up to watch the children and Jeremy Mayhew proudly accepts his due. For the third time in recent months, the Hoskin Stables Musical Ride performed for guests who cheered on appreciatively. The Durham Region Horseback Riding for the Handicapped Assoc- iation is also seeking experienced riders with their own horses to take part in its sixth annual ride-a-thon to raise money to cover the cost of riding lessons, special equipment and insur- ance for handicapped riders. each rider in the Durham apped program was award- for their progress. Trophies will be awarded to the individ- ual rider with the high- est earnings, to the group or stable with the highest earnings, and the first and second place junior highest earnings. Royal music exams results The Royal Conser- vatory of Music summer examinations were recently held in Oshawa. The following students from Port Perry were successful in their respective attempts. They are the students of Laurel Griffen. Grade II Flute First Class Honours- Andrea Hobbs- 83 per cent; Lynda Sutton- 82' per cent. Honours-- Corry Greenwood- 78 per cent; Kym Hazelwood- 78 per cent; Kristy Williams- 78 per cent and Caren Turner- 74 per cent. Grade 1 Piano First Class Honours- Jody Luke- 84 per cent.
