Mr. and Mrs. William Stone attended the Holstein show at the C.N.E. on Friday and were thrilled while there to meet several people from New Zea- land and Australia who had been their hosts when they had visited there. Ruby Beare, Marie Cookman, Eunice Rahm and Muriel Gibson visit- ed the museum at Milton last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hood and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Snoddon of Little Britain visited Sunday with their mother, Mrs. Olive McMillan. Mr. McCready spent the weekend at West port New York visiting with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Kratz and family. Jack and Margaret Couperthwaite spent last Thursday visiting at Willow Beach. Sympathy is extended to Jerry and Allan Davis on the passing of their Sunday Mrs. Norrine Cook and Mrs. Jean Hunter spent last Thursday at Guelph visiting with Jean's daughter, Pat Studinski, husband and family. . A large crowd attend- ed the decoration service on Sunday. Reverend Crawford, as guest speaker, gave a thoughtful message titled '"The End of Separation". Enjoyable music was provided by Mrs. Betty Stone as organist, and Mr. Bert Hutcheon singing some good old hymns. Officiating at the ceremony was the bride's father, Rev. Art Rodgers. Laurie was escorted down the aisle by her uncle, Robert Rodgers, of Oshawa. The bride is the daughter of Rev. Art and Ruth Rodgers, of Greenbank. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian McCombe, of Janetville. The bride wore a white floor-length nylon gown, with pearl beading around the bodice. It was trimmed with chantilly lace on the sleeves and hem. Her waist-length veil was also trimmed with pearl beading on the head- piece, and chantilly lace on the veil. She wore white shoes, a sterling silver heart-shaped necklace, a blue lace garter, and carried a white parasol, trimmed with silk red roses, pink carnations, and white baby's breath, as her bouquet. Darlene Rodgers, of Toronto, Ontario, sister of the bride, was maid of honour. Bridesmaids were Patti Clarke, of Lindsay, Ontario, friend of the bride, and Lorraine McCombe, of Janetville, Ontario, sister of the groom. David McCombe, of Janetville, Ontario, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Danny and Larry Rodgers, of Greenbank, Ontario, both brothers of the bride. Greeters at the church were: Stephen Geer, of Port Perry, Ontario, friend of the groom, and Robert Rodgers Jr., of Oshawa, Ontario, cousin of the bride. Music at the ceremony was provided by Linda Hunter, as organist, and Rita Stickwood, as soloist. Both of these ladies added much to the wedding service. The reception was held in the Greenbank Church basement, with Raymond Gunsolus, as Master of Ceremonies, uncle of the bride: and followed with a dance at Nestleton Community Centre, in Nestleton, Ontario. The couple honeymooned through the Maritimes and proceeded on to Niagara Falls. The newlyweds now reside in Oshawa, Ontario. Prior to the marriage, the bride was honoured at several showers, given by: Ruby Bulmer, her former landlady: Darlene Rodgers, sister of the bride; Seagrave United Church Ladies, at Seagrave United Church; Greenbank United Church Ladies, at the home of George and Gladys Van De Walker; and Ellen Watson, grandmother of the groom.
