Playing 9 innings in a steady driz- zle of rain was not easy for either team, but Haugens came out on top with a 40 win. Haugens started early, scoring 2 runs in the top half of the first inning. Ken Irvine went the distance on the mound for Haugens giving up only 3 hits and striking out 12 batters. Pontypool batters never threatened once during the game. There was no more scoring until the top of the seventh inning when Prince Albert got 2 more insurance runs to put the game away. Excellent effort by everyone on the Prince Albert squad made the win look so easy.
