Mrs. Bucknell, who owns a kennel just south of Utica, has sold six month old Alexis and four month old Tiger to a lawyer in Malaysia and will be shipping them off to the faraway country via airplane sometime this week. He took his message from the Gospel of Luke and titled it "Are we really children of God?" and we should thank God every day that we have the priviledge of being 'Children of God'. The scriptures were read by Art Oliver and Nellie Hopkins. A beautiful solo was sung by Barbara Hump- hries "Nothing is Im- possible, when you put your trust in God." Two beautiful arran- gements of lillies were placed at the front of the church. We have some good gardeners in the area and it is so good of them to share their lovely flowers with the congregation. The sympathy of the community goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Ross Batten and family, to Mrs. Judy Gibson and sons and to Helen Batten in the death of Russell Batten, a loving father and husband. Russell Batten along with his wife and family owned and operated the store at Ashburn for many years before his retirement to Oshawa. He will be missed by his many friends.
