Papering will be done at the Manse this Camille Crozier if you would like to help. Drainage will be planned around the church basement and then carpet will be installed on the floor. The Memorial Fund is coming in very useful for this improvement. Rev. Tansley who has been a great help in encouragement and leadership will not be with us much longer as Rev. Robinson will begin his Pastorate at morning services July 15. The same day at 7 p.m. an Induction Service will be conduct- ed by the Oshawa Presbytery in the Scugog Church United and will include the congregation of Man- chester and the Island. On June 17 the Sunday School and Congreg- ation of Scugog United will be looking forward to a picnic immediately after the Church Service. Mr. Russell Pogue at the Foot of the Island entered hospital last week as the result of a heart attack. We do wish a speedy recovery for him. We always look for- ward to anniversaries and reunions. Irene (Redman) Carter and Marion (Trew) Carter look forward to theirs held annually in Oshawa when they renew friend- ships with nurses who trained together for 3 years. these 2 ladies celebrated their 40th at the Oshawa Hospital Alumni Grad- uation Banquet at the Holiday Inn on Sat. night. Congregation takes lead in Lay Service Utica & Area News by Vera Brown Church and Sunday School this week are at Utica at 11:00 a.m. This will be Lay Sunday and the service will be in charge of Mr. Donald Asling with other members of the con- gregation taking part. The UCW Presbyter- ial meeting will be held on June 12th at Keswick. The Pine Grove Ladies Auxiliary have invited the UCW to their annual meeting on June 14th. Anyone wishing to attend either of these -meetings are requested to contact Shirley Baster as soon as poss- ible. At the last meeting of Session and Stewards plans were made to begin the work needed on the Utica Church.
