It was quite notice- able at the Sunday United Church Service that we were experienc- ing a holiday weekend. We were brought up to date on financial statis- tics for the Ventures in Mission project. The proposed 40 million dollars has been reach- ed in donations or pledges. But it is felt we must go beyond that. Within 3 years intended pledges some times fail for unforeseen reasons. The Oshawa Presbytery has done well but the Bay of Quinte Confer- ence is still below its goal. In the Scugog Pastoral Charge, Man- chester has had several donations but Scugog Island United Church . friends have not taken the opportunity yet. If you are interested, please call Clifford Red- man or Maurice Fra- lick. PRNG On Sunday at the Island United, we were pleased to welcome Kathy Baker as a guest speaker with Rev. and Mrs. Tansley from Cen- tennial United. We appreciated her lovely . vocal solo, "Lord Most Holy'. pital We are all interested to hear that David Redman has returned home after 13 months of training in Japan and travel thro' other Asia- tic countries and United States. We shall be considered lucky to share his stories and experiences. Clifford Love and Bob Healey are still in hos- but gradually improving. As Marion Carter's daughter, Ann, now liv- ing in Edmonton, attended a wedding in Ontario last week, she was able to spend several days with her. mother and family.
