May 23, 1984 -- 21 Krazies run out of gas at end of tournament This past weekend the Karwood Krazies of Blackstock participated in a OV Regional Slo- Pitch Championship held in Peterborough. Although the players put up a valiant effort, they fell a little short of defending last year's title. The previous sea- son saw the Krazies win the 'DD' division and earn the right to partic- ipate in the Provincials at Niagara Falls. This weekend they came up second best in the 'D' division entitling them to return to the Falls for the third straight year, only this time in the higher category. Over the nine games on Saturday and Sunday Blackstock" scored 101 runs while allowing only 47. The hit parade was led by Laval Poulin and Tom Wotten who had averages of .777 and .888 respectively. Phil Archer pitched all nine and contributed to the cause by hitting .677. Grant Curnow and Eldon Wagg tied for the home run lead with 4 each with Ron Wagg (2), Tom Wotten, Dave Dalton, and Rick Bay- ard, and Lavel Poulin getting singles.
