The girls set up camp at the home of the Mortons in Bethany. Miss Sheen not only shared her expert know- ledge of the fine art of camping but literally gave the clothes off her back (and the watch off her wrist) when the weather grew chilly and it was discovered none of the girls had a watch. Mr. and Mrs. Morton and Miss Morton made the girls feel right at home and even provided the use qf their luxur- ious van, complete with beds and warm blankets. Swimm- ing program at Uxpool will run from July 3 to July 16 with the bus leaving Cartwright Cen- tral Public School at 8:00 a.m. returning about 11:00 a.m. Regis- tration will be held at Elaine Bailey's, 77 Scugog Street on Thurs. Roll Call was, wear as many slogan buttons, pins or broaches as possible and was well answered with many interesting pins some of which were real collect- ors items. Kathleen Dorrell was the prize winner with the most buttons. After roll call Daine had some of us trying out the hula hoop. While her friends have long . recongnized Sharon Wil- son's many talents we had no idea she was a champion with the hula hoop. Diane served a very tasty lunch while we visited and enjoyed the many buttons and pins on display. The June meeting is a pot luck dinner at Jean Goble's house at 6:30 p.m., Group 1 salad, Group 2 Dessert and Groups 3 and 4 main course. Thirteen members of the Morning Unit of UCW met at Joan Gra- ham's Lome. After a social half hour Unit Leader Eleanor Werry opened the meeting with * a poem, 'If no birds sang only those who sang best'. Minutes were read and approved. Margaret Mountjoy thanked everyone for their beautiful desserts and co-operation for our Dessert Travelogue. Our Unit will provide the Lion's Club with their dinner May 16 and General Meeting will be May 30 at 7:45 to begin with Pot Luck supper. For our June meeting we are planning a trip to Cullen Barns. Norma VanCamp con- ducted the worship. Her theme was May winds and Sunshine. Using Deuteronomy Chapter 33 verses 12 and Levit- icus Chapter 25 v.3. Norma told of some of her memories of wind and tumbling thistle when she was young out on the Prairie. Joan and Harvey then took us on their trip to Europe with pictures and comment- ary which was most enjoyable. Blackstock Nursery School Our year-end trip to Peterborough Zoo is on May 24.
