May 23, 1984 Intrusion, Bar 4 take medals in Canadian stage Jazz Festival On May 18 and May 19, Jazzmerize, Intrus- ion and Bar 4 competed in the Canadian Stage Band Jazz Choir Festiv- .al at the Constellation Hotel, Toronto. Jazz Bands and Choirs from across Canada compete at this festival which is held in a different city each year. (Last year it was in Calgary). The level of performance is superb. Intrusion, made up of Kevin Ferguson, Jamie Lane, Tim Solar, Jeff Flieler, Scott McDoug- all and Chris Rooney won the Silver Medal in the Jazz Combo class. Bar 4, made up of Bill Dowson, Jennifer Baird, Hilary Fairburn, lan Mabhaffy, Kevin Fergu- son (bass), Jamie Lane (drums), Lori Cole (piano), were awarded the Bronze Medal in the vocal combo class. . Jazzmerize also turn- ed in their best perform- ance of the year in the jazz choir competition but the powerful west- ern choirs placed in the medals. In this competition, first place went to Mountain S.S. of Lang- ley, B.C., second went to McGee S. S. of Vancou- ver and third went to Lethbridge Alberta.
