A lovely worship service was given. The president, Aldene Wick, giving some helpful thoughts on "View- points of Life', the scripture was read by Florence Ashton and Catherine Humphrey led in prayer.' Bernice Gardner yas in charge of the prog- ram when she and Florence Ashton read Easter poems from the Ideals books and some favourite hymns were sung. The study part of the meeting was given by Nellie Hopkins and she gave a very interesting account of many of the Easter legends, their origins and their mean- ings. There are many legends that relate to the death and resurec- tion of Christ. One thing she and no one else knew was how the Easter Bunny got in there, does anyone know? A lovely lunch was served by the hostess and a happy time was spent togeth- er. Burns Kirk Guild cor- dially invite all ladies to join us for an evening of entertainment, refresh- ments and social time on May Ist at 8 p.m. in the church hall. Our guest will be Lorraine Coombs, and she will demonstrate Folk Art, with handy tips on how to become involved in this fascinat- ing art. We hope to see you there. On Sunday, April 29th at 11:15 the service will take the form of a missionary service with Margaret Stewart, Missionary nurse, work- ing with the Leprosy Victims at Papua, New Guiana, will be the guest speaker, and there will be special music. Please come. Put a ring around May 6th on your calen- der, it is to be a very special day at Burns Church. The 16th ann- iversary of the dedica- tion of the new church after the 1967 fire that destroyed the old church that had stood for about one hundred and ten years. At the morning ser- vice, there will be a special guest soloist, Gale Rodgers of Nap- anee who will sing, and in the evening at 7:30 p.m. there will be a service of Gospel Music by "The Torchmen" of St. Catherines, a well known group. Refresh- ments and a social hour wil follow the evening service. Everyone is welcome to attend this inspirational day. Rev.
