This scenario for most of us is just a vague concept but for the annually trek to the south for some. Playoffs start, parents decide to head south, and the kids miss the biggest days of their lives, league play- offs. Oh welll Olde Billy Playwright couldn't have done it any better in writing the script for today's play- off encounters in series "AM and "B". Imagine if you can the Cochrane Trotters beat- ing IGA, they would have except for three glowing errors in their end zone. This seemed to settle the play of the entire team, that at the time were outplaying the IGA club. With the score finally ending 4-2 in favour of IGA. In the first period both teams traded some exciting moments and missed chances, but only to be foiled by the goaltenders, end to end play never seemed to stop. It wasn't until the second period that IGA went ahead on Willy King's goal, Sturman assisting. Then one minute and 20 seconds later the Trotters came right back to tie it at 1-1, Mark Elliott scoring. And low and behold the errors came like light- ing, and IGA were ahead 3-1 after two periods. h Joe Forder scored when Fulford tried to clear the puck and fell, Sturman and Kip Roane assisted. John Sturman then scored, Forder assisted. Next game is this Saturday in Wellington and a fifth match to decide the outcome (if necessary) will be back at the Scugog Arena Sunday afternoon at 4:00 P. M. blue line. This period along with the first was outstanding both ways and like the first game, the goaltending was something else. In the third period Smith scored his second on a perfect pass from Grosvenor from the side of the net. But it wasn't long before Mike Brock finally scored his goal and the third for Emmersons in the 3-1 win over Consumers Gas - Come on parents, get out and support your son.
