His steady bat should help to fill the gap in the line-up created by the "departure Williams and Gary Baker. The team will be sporting all new uniforms this season thanks to team sponsors Lloyd and Marion Lee. Also the team is hold- ing a dance in Green- bank Hall on Saturday, April 30th and you can get advance tickets from any of the Gam- bler players. With Port Perry Karate Club Green belt youngster Sunday, March 20, 1983 was an exciting and rewarding day for eleven year old Geoffrey Reis of Port Perry. Geoffrey, along with students of the Laval Centre and the Durham College Karate Clubs in Oshawa participated in the demanding testing for his promotion to 3rd KYU Green Belt. This is his 3rd ranking and it is quite an achievement for someone Geoff- rey's age. Many people begin their training in Karate in their teens and older. You can see Geoffrey continuing his training and proudly wearing his coveted green belt at the Laval Centre in Oshawa and with the Port Perry __ Karate Club at the Latcham Centre. Hence Rob Dods has found Geoffrey to be an unexpected asset to the Port Perry Club. '"He's both eager to learn and dependable in his aid in teaching the beginners in the club. Despite his age he performs his re- sponsibilities extremely well," Dods says.
