Substitute goalie Doug McSween picked pucks off left and right as he got his 1st shut out of the season. Tim Curray started things off in the 1st as he scored from Scott Davis and Sports- land in the second period scored three quick goals in the second. Bernie McCaney scored at the 19:33 mark from Jim Beatty, Ken Smart scored two minutes later from Tim Curry and then Tim Curry scored his second from Scott Davis. Final score Sportsland 4, Compton 0. Goaltender for this game were Doug McSween for Sportsland and Rick Huggins for Compton. J&D Carpentry started things off quickly but Gre- Three Reb victories against Dunbarton by Kathleen Taylor All three Port High boys basketball teams were successful last week with wins in a triple header against Dunbarton. The games were played at home on Wednesday, January 12. The senior boys won with a final score of 60-55. Scott Wallace and Todd Wilbur were high scorers with 24 and 18 points respectively. The midgets and juniors were also triumphant. The junior boys team also participated in a tournament at G.L. Roberts on Saturday, January 15. They came away with two hard fought victories against Bowman- ville and Henry Street before being defeated in the finals by a team from West Humber. Both wins and the final game resulted from a strong team effort from all players making up for two key injuries. The midget and senior boys will play in an exhib- ition game against Cart- wright on Tuesday, January 18, at home. The teams then have a two week holiday while they write exams. Good luck Rebels! Pee Wee B's win 5-3 The evening of January 10th, the George Stone Pee Wee B's hosted Uxbridge for their final league game together. Port won with a 5-3 score. The 'Stones' played a strong first period and chalk- ed up four goals. The first went to Ian Smith 4 and one half minutes into play with assists going to Jeff Oke and Tim Allsopp. The second marker went to Jimmy Vernon assisted by Keith Roberge, the third goal was scored by Mike Toye, assisted by Kevin Gibson and Mark Elliott, and No.4 was credited to Jeff Oke with assists earned by Tim Allsopp and Ian Smith. Uxbridge played hard in the second period and scored their first goal. Going into the final period, Kevin Gib- son netted Port's fifth goal assisted by Mike Toye and Davis Watts. Uxbridge put on the final pressure and earned 2 more goals before the end of the game. There was 6 minutes of penalty time for both teams. While still in the first period Dale Bronson scored from brother Doug and Dave Bourgeois to give Gregorys a 4-2 lead at the end of the first. One goal in 2nd that was scored by Bob Hutchinson Radio fhaek. Authorized Sales Centre and assisted by Randy Logan gave Gregory's the 5-2 win. Scott Sinclar played net for Gregory's and Doug Mc- Sween played net for J&D. Crandell's Riverboat are looking better every game as they beat the number 1 team, B.J. Donuts 6-1. In the 1st, Crandells led 2;0 as Bill Little and Bruce Smith scored the goals and Al Bonner picked up an assist. In the second Crandells scored 4 more to get the game out of reach for B.J.'s to catch up. At 12:30 Al Bonner scored from Bill Little and Vince Bossano. Seconds later Bill Little scored his 2nd of the day from John Connors. Cran- dells kept the rampage going as Bill Hurst scored from Colin Asselstine and two minutes later Vince Bossano Rouse or Bowans scored from a pass from Alf Van Beek. With 4:02 left the B.J. Donut team got on the board as Bob Tarbottom scored from Rick Olaison. Final score Crandells 6, B.J. Donuts 1. Don Card who subbed in this week played outstanding stopping the 1st place team B.J. Donuts shots, and Bob Strickert played for B.J.'s. Goalie Barry Johnston played outstanding as Galley Fish and Chips defeated Rick Larocque Electric 2-0. Galley got on the board in the 1st when Glen Hudson scored an unassisted goal. Then at the 3 minute mark in the second, Bob Lee gave Galley a 2-0 lead from Clar- ence Stephenson.
