MoJacks have had a bit of a roller coaster ride most of the season winning many games by big scores and losing several squeakers like the one Sunday night against Lindsay. They have scored a bushel of goals so far. In fact, in 31 games, they have scored five or more goals in 27 of them. And the only really bad defeat the team has had all year was an 8-2 loss in Lindsay December 10. If the MoJacks hang on to third place, they will meet the seventh place team in the opening round of the playoffs and enjoy home ice advantage. Port Bantams run into tough teams at fournament A very interesting tour- nament in Dunnville with a lot of good 'A' hockey teams, and Port Bantams came to the tournament very apprehensive of what would happen, but came home with the feeling that all was not lost, and a good effort was put forth by every member of the team. Our first game was against Alliston who were big, fast and very good. By the end of the first period, we were down 3-0. Hard work and second efforts brought the game within one goal, but just couldn't notch the tie breaker. Port Perry's goals were scored by Bobby Goble from Greg Warriner and Jim White. Our second goal was scored by Dave Burnett from Greg Warriner and Craig Menzies. Our second game turned out to be a little easier as we defeated Dundas 6-2 on superb back checking and forechecking. The defence played very well all day. Port Perry's goals in this game were scored by Greg Warriner, two goals, one assist; Dave Cublert one goal, one assist; Jim White one goal; Steve Durham two '39 PLUS TAX assists; Andy Sytsma one assist; Dave Burnett two assists; Jeff Cockerton three assists. The final game for us was against Humber Valley "A" team which were made up of all majors. Port came out flying in the first period and scored on a goal by Greg Warriner assisted by Steve Durham and Lee Wilbur. Humber Valley came right back and scored four times. Before the period ended, Dave Burnett scored from Craig Menzies to narrow the margin to 4-2. The third period saw Port Perry score two goals, Lee Wilbur from Dave Burnett and Craig Menzies. Greg Warriner on a fine solo effort when we were short handed tied the game. But to no avail as Humber Valley came right back and scored three times to finish the game 7-4 in their favour.
