Mrs. Atkinson, teacher grades 2-3 and Mrs. Cooper, teacher grades 1-2 will be attending the 'Geneva Park Conference' professional workshop on child interest centres on Nov. 4,5, and 6th. These workshops are in accordance with the empha- sis on (ECE) Early Child- hood Education at the primary level. Interim reports will be sent home on Friday, Nov. 29th. Yelverton and area ne (From page 23) grand arc all over the place, like an inexhaustible foun- tain of youth. We presume from measuring the re- mainder in the tank that we lost between one and two hundred gallons which flowed all the way across the yard with puddles of it here and there. The only bright spot in this rather dismal. picture, is that no one came along and dropped a match or cigarette in the mess, or there would have been a hot time in the old town that night for sure. If stupidity were contagious we could easily infect half of the resi- dents of the area. Mrs. Ivy Robinson of Toronto was a weekend guest with her nephew Allan and his wife, Agnes Howe. The Howe's observed their family Thanksgiving dinner on Friday evening. Mr. and mrs. Jim Beggs and family 219 students at Greenbank -Ep Staff and parents, earlier in the year, were asked to fill in questionaires dealing with the project (C.E.D.S.S.y "Cooperative Evaluation and Development of School System Committee". The next phase of this project takes place for us at Green- bank Public School on Oct. 29th when two gentlemen from the 'External Team" of Port Elgin visited their relatives at Janetville, Yel- verton and Pontypool and visited Jim's father in hos- pital prior to returning home. Mrs. Audrie Brown and Mrs. Hazel Gray enjoyed a boat cruise through the lakes and rivers to Gravenhurst, and return this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Malcolm held Thanksgiving dinner for their family, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Grundry of Barrie and Mr. and Mrs. Art Cotton of Manchester. Yelverton Thanksgiving Beef Dinner although down slightly in attendance this year was considered quite a success. Contributing to the decrease in attendance was the inclemenary of the weather coupled no doubt with the current economic situation which inhibits eating out particularly for those with large families. -- Jer) A Avery, Sugg.
