Last week I reported it was for sale for only $200.00. It was the W.I. Quilt that is for sale so rest your feathers ladies, your W.1. is safe for a little while longer. Plans are well underway for the Ranger Fashion Show this Thursday. It was decided at the last Ranger meeting that the Rangers would model Chandelle Fashions once again. Come on out Thursday at the C.E. Room in the United Church and support your Rangers. Twenty-one young people attended the first Young People's Meeting in the form of a weiner roast on Friday at the United Church. It was - decided that we would give the group a change. Our next meeting will be on Sunday, October 31st. Anyone wish- ing to attend is welcome, just show up in a costume and arrive at the church at 8 p.m. There was an excellent crowd at the Blackstock United Church on Sunday when the beautiful memorial window was dedicated in memory of Pearl Bilbey (nee Wright). It had been donated by her husband, Dr. Douglas Bilbey. The Senior Choir sang a lovely anthem entitl- ed" Count It all Joy' with Mrs. Eileen McLaughlin as soloist. Rev. D. Davis' sermon on The Good Samari- tan was very thought provok- ing. Next Sunday will be the Sacrament of Baptism and Youth Sunday. On Sunday evening the Stewards sponsored an even- ing of slides presented by Dale VanCamp of his recent trip to Europe. These pictures showed the agricul- tural viewpoint of the British Isles and Europe. At Aa RIE FPP NIA SOA EERE Blackstock Nursery School Blackstock Nursery School held their second meeting of the year on Tuesday, Oct. 12, with 30 members present. The week before Hallowe'en the Nursery School children will be going for a walk to get a pumpkin. The week of Halloween they will be having parties in their classes. Children may dress up simply with no masks. There will be Show 'n Tell on Nov. 9, 10 and 11. At our next meeting Tuesday, Nov. 9, we will be making Corn Husk Dolls. The meeting will be held at 7:30. A committee was set up to make a float for the Port Perry Santa Claus Parade on Nov. 27. A commi- ttee was also formed to plan our Pancake Breakfast with Santa, tentatively on Dec. 5th. The Children's Christ- mas Party will be held on Dec. 17. A committee was also formed to plan this event. Preparations are almost complete for our Oktoberfest Dance. A week ago, in co-operation with the Sunday School the Youth Group took charge of the Church service and did a terrific job. This past week they had a '"'starve-in" and not only did they enjoy them- selves but they did some- thing for someone else. They presented the Church with over $250 to be sent to World Missions.
