BE REY PE AREA -; The Malmont Farm Atoms played their first league game on Friday night beat- ing Stouffville 7-1. Clair Cornish opened the scoring with a nifty short handed, unassisted goal. Jeff Mills scored the second and third goals with Chris Legere and Clair Cornish earning the assists. The fourth goal was scored by Mike Feasby, assisted by Jan Heyes and Jeff Mills. The Green Machines came out flying in the third period, scoring three more goals with Ryan LaRocca making the saves when necessary. Goal number five was scored by Eric Grosvenor assisted by Clair Cornish and Chris Legere. Goal number seven was assisted by Jan Heyes and earned Clair a well deserved hat trick. Saturday afternoon the Atoms played an exhibition game with the Oshawa Red- wings at the Civic Auditor- ium. Despite a very shaky start the Green Machines LLY 4 v s' won by a score of 6-4. The Redwings were leading 2-0 when Eric Grosvenor put Port on the score board with a goal assisted by Clair Cornish. During the second period Oshawa tried hard but could not put the puck past the goalie. Dalton The first game of Sunday afternoon Broomball was the closest in play as Emmer- son's downed Beacock's by a 2-1 score. Emmerson's clicked first as Ken Little assisted Mike Springstead 10:00 minutes int2 play of the opening period on a face-off to the right of the Blackstock goal. Ron Redman fed Wane McGuigan to the side of the Emmerson goal and he put the ball just under the corss bar to tie it at one apiece. Midway through the second period, the scoring was finished when Tim Dennis popped the ball on a set-up from John Gerber. In the dying moments Black- stock pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker but with penalty trouble couldn't get the equalizer. After three consecutive losses, Oddfellows have yet to score a goal as they went down at the hands of Utica by a 6-0 score. Chester Down fed brother Murray just seconds into the game to get Utica on their way. Halfway through the second period, Mike Mole made it 2-0 on a solo effort and before the period had ended Danny McKee got his first of two assisted by Murray Down.
