Cawker Family News Visiting with Alan and Shirley Love, Summit Drive, Caesarea, over July 28th weekend were parents Bill and Elise Eaton of Toronto, and daughter Jacqueline and Husband John Jones of England who are in Canada for a period visiting relatives. After an enjoyable weekend the parents return- ed home on Sunday evening and the Jones remained for a few days to delight in the Scugog Lake area and have a bit of relaxation before returning to city life again. Wedding Vows Exchanged Don and Norma Frew and David and Leah Frew, Dwayne, Andrew and Richard of Nestleton attend- ed the wedding of Don's niece, Donna Kennedy and Laurie Glans on Friday, July 23, at La Sallette (near Otter- ville). - The wedding ceremony was held on the lovely, spacious lawn, and the. reception at Simcoe Recreation Centre. Approx- imately 150 guests were present for the event. On Saturday, the annual Frew reunion was held at the home of Bob and Anita Frew at Norwich, Ontario, with some 75 family members present. Many activities were enjoyed such as games, white elephant sale, visiting and so forth - before the buffet supper was partaken of - concluding a memorable afternoon. Last Wednesday, Auggie and Blanche Mecica of Woodbrook Estate (mobile home park) from Lakeland, Florida, and ten couples from Ontario, had a fine get-to-gether at the home of Don and Norma Frew, Nestleton - a friendly, enjoy- able occasion for all present. Fred and Mabel Dayes, Nestleton, attended the wedding of Fred's nephew, Stephen Ashton and Shari Olsson held at St. Paul's United Church in Cam- bridge, on Friday evening this past week. They were overnight guests of Mrs. Ruth Enioff, and on Sat- urday they enjoyed the Kitchener Market, and also toured Elmira - the Mennonite country, later dining at the Stone Crock restaurant at the noon hour. The family had supper in Barrie. Ralph and Leona Sadler of Nestleton, spent the after- noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Taylor of Enniskillen, who were *'host- ing" a reunion for cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Titcombe from Vancouver - a branch of the Taylor family. 21 relatives sat down to supper. A fine family party! Norm and Bernice Mairs, Nestleton, held the annual reunion for the Mairs family, on Sunday, August 1st, with 44 present. Family members were on hand from Halifax, Collingwood, Cannington, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Orono 21d Nestleton. A great get-to-gether - topped off with food in abundance. Caesarea Community X Church Church on Sunday morning, August 1st, was well attended with Rev. W_H. Crawford conducting the service. As his theme he used, "The Blind see - I was blind and now I see", taken from Scripture John 9: 25th verse. The organist was Mrs. Bonnie Ballingal of Port Perry, and the soloist Mrs. C. Cameron of Oshawa. A meaningful service. A cordial invitation for next Sunday, August 8th at 11 a.m. Nestleton United Church On Sunday, August 1st, with a very good attendance, Rev. Dale Davis - our new minister was warmly welcomed - conducting his first service at Nestleton. Scripture Acts 20: 28-36 and John 10: 11-18 was read. His theme, "Lambs and Time - Mutton or Shepherds" - an interesting discourse! Miss Gail Malcolm sang, "His Eye is on the Sparrow" - an old delightful sacred number - 1905 era. She was accompanied by organist Mrs. Gwen Malcolm. During August, we warmly welcome the congregation from St. John's Anglican Church Blackstock, to share in our morning worship. Decoration Service will be held August 22nd - 2:30 p.m. Rev. Harry Atkinson - the guest speaker. The Nestleton U.C.W. wish to thank all members who assisted in any way with the successful bake sale held on Saturday last. Nestleton Presbyerian Church Sunday, August 1st, a fair congregation and several visitors present for the 10 a.m. service. Rev. Fred Swann continued with Romans 12, the theme being, "That He may prove that what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God." No music on Sunday. Mrs. Scott organist, Next Sunday 10 am. NOTE: The last three Sundays in August are cancelled - no service. The Anniversary Service will be held September 26 at 11 a.m. with special music. Guest speaker - Rev. Alex McCombe from St. Andrew's Islington Presbyerian Church. Family Visitations Bonnie and Jim Bilton and family of Lanark spent Wed- nesday to Friday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Malcolm, Nestleton. Barry and Joan Malcolm, Simcoe, spent the long weekend with his parents. Sunday dinne guests with Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm were Mr. Stan Malcolm, Port Perry, Miss Gail Malcolm Black- stock, David and Joanne Malcolm and boys, and Glenn and Arlene Malcolm n and Caesarea area and girls, Nestleton. Visiting at the Cawker farm, Scugog Point Rd., over the long weekend were: Mrs. Sylvia Cawker and four interesting teenagers Chandre and Jason Cawker and friends, Christine Fortis and Dale Gordon all of Scar- borough. Grant and Merna Cawker and blond Cathy of Oshawa were supper guests on Monday evening. Get Well Pleased to report that Mrs. Minnie Fisher of Caesarea, is progressing well since surgery, some 4 weeks ago in Oshawa Hospital, and pre- sently is staying with her friend, Mrs. Helen Wilkinson in Port Perry. Neighbour, Mr. Victor Malcolm is also coming along well, and is home since surgery 10 days or so ago. Our '"'very best" to both of these friends from this area. Trust they will be "good as new' soon. Congratulations We commend Mr. Len Prout, Chairman, and his committee of the Lake Scugog Regatta and Field Day - held for three days during the long weekend. This is the 50th anniversary and we understand it was a tremendous success once again, with many features of interest for those attending. Our heartiest con- gratulations!
