May 26, 1982 -- 21 Three vehicle accident results in minor injuries Several people escaped with minor injuries following a three car chain reaction accident Monday morning at the intersection of Durham Roads 21 and 23: Regional Police report that-a 1982 Buick driven by Geraldine Kirton of West Hill, and a 1978 Lincoln driven by Edward William- son of Scarborough were stopped for a red light at the intersection when a van slammed into the rear of the Kirton car pushing it into the Lincoln. Police say the van driven by David Thompson of St. Catherines was travelling at about 25 mph when the accident occurred. Erma Thompson suffered minor injuries, as did Sherry Kirton, Samantha Pedersen, and Geraldine Kirton. None of the occupants of the Williamson car suffered injuries. Police have charged Thompson with driving too close to another vehicle. Spokesman for Durham Police and the OPP detach- ment in Whitby sdy there were no serious accidents on roads and highways in Scugog Township over the long weekend.
