ANN ARANRSAS ORE fT RUFC TA RE vad A Tandrs 6 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, May 18, 1982 letters Writer puts wrap on the hospitality Dear Sir: For Mother's Day, we decided to get some of the family together with Mother for dinner Saturday night, most of us coming from out of town. We felt that a quiet dinner at The Murray House would be fitting and appro- priate. Accordingly, reser- vations were made for the ten of us. Upon arriving, the reser- vation had been transcribed for two, not ten, for dinner at 6:00 p.m. If you can imagine, the management disclaimed responsibility for its staff's error, and turned us out on .the street to search for an Thanks for coverage (Frompage5) is such a convenience for our patrons to pick up tickets while they're downtown. We have been invited to sing at Cullen Gardens on May 29th, so we're looking forward to another chapter in the life of the Scugog Choral Society. Sincerely, / Kent Farndale Publicity D DURHAM CLOSURE OF SANITARY appropriate dinner elsewhere. One would have thought that a small entrepreneur in a situation like that would have made a reasonable attempt to accommodate us. But, no such effort was made. None whatsoever! Port Perry relies to a great extent on tourist dollars coming into the community. And, if this is any example of the courtesy offered and the attitude of merchants in Port Perry, they deserve to sit twiddling their thumbs wondering from where their future business growth will come. The community itself should be ashamed of such an uncalled-for, arrogant attitude, as we saw exhibited. We used to think of Port Perry as a friendly, warm, unspoiled, collection of fine people. But, this experience has tarnished that image. I hope it is not a widespread attitude for the sake of the town which we once knew and of which we were proud. ° Sincerely, Paul D.
