PELL PONTIAC BUICK LIMITED 10 VANEDWARD DRIVE, PORT PERRY - 985-8474 "Serving the Community since 1976." 2d From where this 1978 Firebird now sits, in about a foot of mud and water, the road which it left can not be . seen in the background. Many curious motorists were stopping their cars and venturing part way into the Driver miraculously escapes accident with minor injuries An accident early Friday morning left a 1978 Firebird almost 600 feet from the road in light bush and bog near the intersection of County Road 28 and 6 in Mariposa Township. As of Monday morning, the car was still in the same spot, and it is not certain just how it will be hauled back to the road. According to a spokesman for the Lindsay OPP, the driver of the car, Kevin Formosa, 18 of R.R.3, Little Britain, was southbound on County Road 6 and failed to negotiate the T-intersection. He was treated for cuts and bruises and released from hospital in Lindsay. Formosa was alone in the car at the time. The accident was still under investigation Monday morning, but a police spokes- man said it would be safe to assume the car was travelling at a fast speed when the accident occurred. Cabaret presents Showcase '82 Showcase '82 is this year's Town Hall 1873 Cabaret offering. The historic Hall at Lilla and Queen in Port . Perry will raise the roof with a wide assortment of enter- tainers on Saturday, May 29th from 8 until 1. The audience is promised everything from profess- ional and amateur clowns, the Port High Jazz Choir and Dance Club, singers and dancers, both local and from the area beyond, to 'Sounds Great' in Synthesis, and a live band to cap the evening. This year's special feature will involve audience par- ticipation. Each table of merrymakers will be invited to enter a candidate in Town Teeny Talent Time. Any- thing goes here - - and winners are promised rewards for their efforts. Judging will be by applause and the M.C.'s decision. So tune up your combs, har- monicas, vocal cords, or toes and come for fun. Offbeat films, local per- sonalities, and, of course, bar privileges should all con- tribute to a well-rounded evening merriment. Hosts Jack Cottrell, John Scott, and producer Diane Lackie promise there'll be a 'hot time in the old town to-night'. All proceeds from this Benefit are dedicated to the mounting of the Hall's new showcase and a refurbishing of all walls and woodwork. See you there. The driver received only minor cuts and bruises from the ordeal. Just how this car will be hauled out of about 600 feet of bush and swamp was unknown at press time. The 1978 Firebird failed to make a turn near Little Britain and crashed through the dense scrub land.
