Nobody expected to see a blanket of snow. Let's hope that warmer days are on their way. The Good Friday service "and breakfast was enjoyed by many of the congregation. Easter Sunday service was well attended. Jason Van Veghel sang "Morning has Broken" and Miss Heather Bell presented a solo on her flute. Also taking part in the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nottingham. Next Sunday, Sunday School and Church will be held at Epsom at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Bruce Bailey received word this week of the passing of a former neighbour, Mrs. Brian (Donna) Tough who passed away at her home in New Sarepta, Alberta, on April 6th. Sympathy to Brian, Ben- jamin and Rosalee in their bereavement. , Winners of the euchre on Friday evening were: Ladies- 1st Carolyn Parish; 2nd Dorothy McCaslin, and low to Lena Ogden. Mens: 1st Frank Collins; 2nd Irwin Kydd and low to Norman Birkett. Freeze-out winners were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Masters with Elva Kidd and Nora Prentice 2nd. There will be another euchre in two weeks. For those people who like to attend Church dinners, there will be a beef dinner at Utical Hall sponsored by the U.C.W. on Thurs. April 22nd. Greenbank UCW The April meeting of the Greenbank U.C.W. was held in the Church basement on Wednesday evening April 7. Eunice Rahm opened the Easter Devotional with a reading about Easter. Mae Blakely read the scripture following with a pray. A story about the author of the hymn 'The Old Rugged Cross' was read by Helen Parish. Helen Thomsom opened the business meeting by welcoming everyone. The U.C.W. Purpose was repeat- ed.Thank you notes were read from Clay Dempsey, Barb Ward and the World Day of Pray Committee for our offering donation. Mary Jean Till and Helen McKean gave reports of meetings they had attended recently. Helen mentioned the Region 1 rally to be held in Seagrave Church on May 6. On a request from Rev. Rodgers, Nancy Dempsey and Dot Hooker were put in to see if a baby sitting service could be set up during church. Remember to save your Canada Packer Labels and your used postage stamps. Helen Parish introduced the speaker for the evening, Joan Norton from Uxbridge Nurseries, located 1 mile south of Greenbank. Joan conducted an identification contest after which she presented a gift certificate to the winner Grace Hunter and plants to the runners up Jean Hunter, Helen McKean, and Muriel Gibson. Joan showed us how to prune shrubs and trees and answered questions from the memebers. Helen Parish presented a gift to Joan to show her our appreciation. A delicious lunch was then served by the group - Eunice Rahm, Grace Hunter, Helen Parish and Mae Blakely. Next meeting will be on May 5.
