Little did they know then that this meager building -would become part of a Christmas ritual, and they would end up creating a miniature village of ginger- - bread. The Star visited the Price home in Manchester last week to view some of their traditional Christmas decor- ations and photograph the gingerbread village and other interesting Christmas items. Mrs. Price said that the This Gingerbread general store is one of many buildings in the Price's Gingerbread Village. Pat makes the dough and cuts the patterns, and the children decorate the assembled structures. The buildings are neatly arranged on a soft white cotton-batten base which takes on the appearance of snow, with figurines of people, angels, and animals scattered about. And each of the buildings, which include a church, general store, cottage, two models of the Price's homes and a nativity scene are wired so they light- up during the night-time. The village takes two or three days to create, and it is done from scratch each year. When Christmas is over, the gingerbread village is taken apart and is eaten by family, birds and squirrels. But the Price household has much more than just a gingerbread village to make the home warm with the feel of Christmas.
