AERA 16 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., December 9, 1981 Minor Hockey Novice House League by Don Steele Scugog Realty - 5 Reliable Plumbing - 1 The first period in this match was very close, with the Realtors only netting one goal, that from the stick of Michael Sluggett, assisted by Kenny Smart. Reliable Plumbing increased their lead in the second period on goals by Glenn White, un- assisted, Kevin Brown from Michael Sluggett,and Sluggett, his second, from Kevin Brown. The Realtors fifth marker came just 50 seconds into the third period on a goal by Glen White, assisted by Chad Brown. Reliable Plumbing finally got on the board, when Kevin Knapps beat Ben Beanchard, unassisted at the mid point in the period. Sportsland - 4 Kinsmen- 1 Sportsland continued their winning streak by downing Kinsmen 4 - 1. Sportsland scored twice in the first period on markers by Philip Edgar from Jody Lagan and Mike Olaisen from Shawn Larvique. Kinsmen got -on - the score sheet late in the second period on an unassist- ed effort by Sean McEnaney. However, Sportsland put the game on ice in the third period on 'goals by Jody Logan and Billy Riddell, with assists going to Carl Payne, Philip Edgar and Jody Logan. Scugog Realty - 1 Sportsland - 0 In one of the closest match- es this season, Scugog Realty came out on top 1 - in an end to end game. Both teams played extremely well, with many scoring opportunities at both ends of the rink. At the 5 minute mark of the third period, Darren Hope finally broke the deadlock after taking the pass from Chad Brown. Both netminders, ny Smart and Jason M¢Bride, played solidly between the pipes. Reliable Plumbing - 3 Kinsmen - 2 Reliable Plumbing reg- istered their first win of the season by defeating Kins- men 3 - 2 in an action packed game. Kinsmen scored first on an unassisted effort by Jeff Brett. The Plumbers tied the score on a goal by Jody Logan from Greg Kyle and Kent Jaimeson. Kinsmen came back and went ahead when Ross Stainton passed to Donny Hughes who found an opening in the pads of Michael Payne. Jody Logan evened the score at 2 on a clean breakaway early in the third period. Logan then got his hat trick with 2:02 re- maining in the period to give his team the victory. Kinsmen -5 Scugog Realty - 2 Kinsmen dominated the first period and a half scor- ing four unanswered goals. Markers went to Jeff Brett from Donny Hughes; John Collins with two from Donny Hughes and Jeff Andrews, the Sean McEnaney assisted by Donny Hughes. The Realtors finally put the puck past netminder Chad Gar- House League vock on a fine three way play with Gavin Cochrane scoring from Michael Sluggett and Darrin Hope. Kinsmen added one more in the third period with Donny Hughes scoring from Jeff Brett. The Realtors came back a min-, ute later on a breakaway with Kenny Smart finding the mark unassisted. Brad Moase played well for the Realtors, having to make many saves for his team in net. Sportsland - 5 Reliable Plumbing - 3 A much improved Reliable Plumbing team took an early lead on goals by Dwayne Empringham and Jody Logan, with Greg Kyle pick ing up an assist. But Sports- land came back with five unanswered goals. Richard LaRogue scored twice with singles going to Mike Olaisen, Philip Edgar and Steven Desautel. Steven also picked up two assists, with David Valman and Mike Olaisen getting one each. The final scoring play of the game came on an unassisted effort by Jody Logan for the Plumbers late in the third period. BANTAM HOUSE LEAGUE BY Jeff Wray Cochrane Trotters - 4 Goreski Insulation - 5 The second game of the night was a real shoot out with Goreski coming out on top. Petites capture pair of victories On Sat. Dec. 5, 1981, the Bruton's 1.D.A Petites play- ed the Oshawa A Team at our arena and came home on the winning side of a 2 - 1 score. Val White, scored her first goal of the season. Kim Loudfoot also scored. Both of these goals were unassisted. Laura Edwards, a goal- tender in the making, played her first game in goal and did an excellent job. Most girls played different positions and all played extremely well. Misty and Nicky both put forth a superb effort and kept us in the game several times. Hope you are better now, Heather. Come on out and watch these girls play in their next home game on Sat. Dec. 12, 1981 at 5:30 P.M. On Sunday Dec. 6, 1981, Bruton's I.D.A. Petites _ travelled to Harman Park arena in Oshawa, where they played the Oshawa C-Snow- birds team. Port Perry was successful in bringing home a 5 - 4 victory. Michelle Beare started our scoring with her, first goal of the season. This was an unassist- ed effort. Kelly Calloway, with her first goal, scored the second goal assisted by Michelle Beare." Val White got the third goal, unassisted Val also scored the fourth goal, with assists going to Kerri Allen and Melissa Moehring.Kelly got her sec- ond goal on an assist from Misty Andrews. Good work girls. Jen Pelow played her first game in goal and did a good job. Nicky, Kim, Denise and Jenny all played very well on defence. Sorry Heather, Karyn, Laura and Jessica couldn't be with us. Hope to see you all onSat. Dec. 12th at 5:30 when these girls play their next game. Tweens lose by Jeannie Muir The Chris Allen Aluminum Tweens went to Whitby on Sat. Dec. 5 to play the Whitby 'B' Tweens. A good end to end game was played by both teams but the final score was 3-2 for Whitby. The Chris Allen team goals were scored by Tina Soomre, assisted by Coleen Scala and Donna Edwards assisted by Heidi Meisner and Lesley Biffin.
