Quantity of narcotic drugs stolen from Hospital pharmacy An investigation by Dur- ham Region Police continues into a break-in October 23 at Port Perry Community Hospital which resulted in the theft of a quantity of narcotic drugs. A Police spokesman described the amount of drugs missing as "small"- but said the dollar value is fairly substantial. The drugs, including morphine and cocaine, were taken from a locked cabinet in the hospital pharmacy, and entry into the pharmacy was gained by smashing an outside window. The spokesman said the thief or thieves were selec- tive and apparently knew what they were looking for. There have been thefts of similar kinds of drugs reported recently from drug stores in Durham and York Regins, and Durham Police are also investigating an attempted break-in the previous weekend at Uxbridge Hospital: HOSPITAL REPORT Week Ending October 29 Admissions ..................... 29 Births ..........cccvveennnn. 2 Deaths ............cocevvveenenenee. 2 Emergencies ................. 132 Operations ...................... 17 Discharged ..................... 33 Remaining ...................... 34 SAT., NOVEMBER 7th Dance to the Music of the 40's-50's-60's From 'Glen Miller' to 'The Beatles.
