There is proof of that in skeletons of dinosaurs and 'ancient mummys. : But, there is speculation that one of the more than 100 different types of arthritis is relatively new. The type in question is rheumatoid arthritis. This is one of the most common and potentially dangerous form of arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis strikes most people in the 20-45 year age group, and seems to affect about three times as many women as men. The cause of rheumatoid arthritis" is not known and there is no cure for it. The disease: can be AF MAA RY RE MINAS ALA LE aad es , # YON 3 Ah bX el va oR des Meer BEC ANS SE i ARE aN Sb EE HE RTA AP controlled with drugs in most cases. The suggestion that rheumatoid arthritis is a recent addition to man's ailments, comes from the fact that it has never been - described by the ancient Greeks and Romans; it does not show up in Shakespeare or the Bible; and it cannot be found in paintings before ' / until the middle of the last century. According to Dr. Watson Buchanan, Director of the Rheumatic Disease Unit at McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton, researchers suspect that the cause of rhéumatoid arthritis may be a slow-virus. . According to Buchanan, slow viruses are 1800. It was not even named Epsom School's future safe for five more years The Durham Board of Education has agreed the future of Epsom School will not be examined again for another five years, and bus service will be provided this September for families on Regional Road 23 who wish to send their children to the school. Both decisions by the Board, which were adopted earlier this summer, came as welcome news to the Epsom School Accomodation Committee, which had made the suggestions in a report on the school this past spring. 'Mrs. Barbara Evans, one of the committee members who drafted the report to the board on the school, called the actions 'pleasing and positive." Committees are formed to examine the future of' schools when enrolments drop to certain levels, and what the Board's decision means is that there won't even be another examination of the school for five years at least. On August 11, the Board sent a letter to families living in the area of Regional Road 23 south of the Reach Road, informing them that bus service to Epsom School (grades K to Six) would be available this September. The Accomodation Committee maintained in its report that the enrolments at the school could be increased if there was more thorough bus service in that area. 193, SHORT TERM CERTIFICATES 30to 89 Days Rates subject to change. &<J STANDARD Y.:3m¥ TRUST 165Queen Street.
