Large crowds gathered around the stage parked in front of the Post Office during all four performances of this Western spoof. - 2 Ee Sor or ed eT x = SAS Lindsay - A Crowell re-union Reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russ Lindsay R.R.4 Uxbridge: on July 18. Mr. and Mrs. Russ Lindsay's son and grandson John and Kevin drove from Peneticton, British Columbia for reunion. There were relatives also from Millbrook, Minden, Oakville, Newmarket, Oshawa, Whitby and Lindsay. There was entertainment for young and old. Main event was the hayride through the country roads. There were five genera- tions in attendance. Prizes were won by Karen Wagg, Sharon Tobin and Bob Crowells. Eldest member Selina Crowells received a corsage and lawn chair. ; Youngest member, Bradley Wagg, received a coin collection. Donations for the reunion was supplied by Don Speirs Coin Shop, Dave Speirs, Marjorie aand Ella Sproule, Russ and Lill Lindsay. Smorgasbord lunch was served at 5:30 followed by bingo which was enjoyed by young and old. The evening was closed with a dance. ae NN oI A. Throughout last week, we made hobby horses and the highlight, of the week came on Friday when -we dressed up as Indians 'and cowboys while - we ate roasted hot dogs, marshmellows, and we couldn't have a western: meal without pork and beans. This week has been filled with all sorts of. fantastic "things. On Monday we board- ed our orange fantasy- mobile and travelled spell- bound to Ontario Place. After we returned home we began preparing for our parade down Queen Street, . Port Perry, on Thursday, 'August 13th. We plan to » march down the road to the Latcham Centre where we will hold our Exhibition 81, a festival of displays and acts. We hope to see you all there. It's hard to believe that Playground ends this week! Sandra, Joanne and I would like to take this opportunity to thank George Freeman, the staff at Birdseye Pool, and the staff at Scugog Arena. On $IPCO we serve Playground news Monday, we had a surprise birthday party. Tuesday is Ontario Place - the big trip of the year, and Friday is our 'sad farewell party." . PRINCE ALBERT PLAYGROUND by Terri Healey Last week "Sports and Games" week started out with a holiday, but we were back ready to "roll" on Tuesday, with rollerskating in the morning. Tuesday afternoon, our athletes put on the uniforms and we held a "sport shirt" competition. Wednesday brought a warm day and swimming was a welcome event. On Thursday, we worked on our banner for the upcoming parade. We ended off "Sports Week" with a baseball game and the big tie-breaker will take Thursday in Port Perry after the parade. Come out and support our team. The play- ground parade will take "place at 11:00 on Thursday. All the playgrounds are meeting at Port Perry High School to start the parade. The parade will proceed down Queen Street to the Latcham Centre where the kids will enjoy a barbeque lunch and then entertain with songs, plays, and of course, the baseball game.
