Mr. Ross Stevenson MPP for Durham-York stated today that he has expressed the concerns of the Durham-York residents to Mr. Jim Snow, Minister of Transportation and Com- munications for Ontario. Mr. Snow has a meeting planned next week with the federal office and he hopes to resolve the situation at that time. : "I believe the cancellation is a step in the wrong direc- tion" stated Mr. Stevenson "the Feds overruled the Canadian Transportation Communications at a time when the Ontario Govern- ment is trying to promote the use of public transpor- tation." Mr. Stevenson will be monitoring developments on this issue to make sure that the concerns of 'local residents are expressed. Woman injured in three-car accident A Port Perry woman suffered serious injuries Tuesday morning in a three vehicle crash at the inter- section of Taunton and Zion Roads. Barbara Hillier, 29, of R.R. 3 was taken to Oshawa General Hospital with major injuries after her car collided with another car and a dump truck. Driver of the dump truck, 1Year Annual Interest 5Year Annual Interest .......... Harry Libbenga, 29 of Ponty- pool was uninjured. Only minor injuries were sustained by the driver of the other car- involved in the accident, Brian Fluke, 27 of Orono. No passengers were riding in any of the three vehicles. Durham Regional Police say no charges have yet been laid.
