Bridal Shower On the evening of Tuesday, July 21, Mrs. Mabel Cawker of Scugog Point Road, hosted a miscellaneous shower in honour of bride elect Wilhemena Beach, Oshawa, fiancee of Robert Nicholls of Oshawa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nicholls of Caesarea. After a short programme many lovely gifts were open- ed and admired by the bride- to-be. At the conclusion Wilhemena thanked every- one warmly for the gifts and the event held in her honour. Refreshments were served at the close. A sincere thank you to those who assisted with the shower, refresh- ments etc. - Minnie Fisher, Bernice Mairs, Jean Williams and Doris Notting- ham. Best wishes from the area to this young couple for much happiness. Nestleton Presbyterian Church On Sunday morning, July 26, 10 a.m. with an average attendance for worship service, Rev. Fred Swann read Scripture Peter 2, using sermon text verse 9. 'Ye are a chosen generation - a peculiar people - we are told to be different and not follow the crowd. Christianity is being different - Jesus was different - not like anyone else before or after." Mrs. Shirley Scott played for the service. Next Sunday at 10 a.m. All welcome. Attend Wedding Anniversary On Saturday, July 25, Sam and Mabel Cawker, Scugog Point, were guests at the 25th Wedding Anniversary dinner for Robert and Madeline Cawker held in Grace United Church Sunday School room, Scugog Island. Later a party in their honour was an enjoy- able feature of the occasion at the home of their daughter Steve and Wendy Gerrow, Sunrise Beach. Many family members were on hand to extend "warmest wishes to Bob and Madeline. Many gifts and cards were received from relatives and friends.
