Trojans 7-4, and the Aztecs doubled M and M Tire by a score of 8-4, In the Flames-Packers game, the teams raced through a scoreless first period before Bruce Wood- row took passes from Bruce Smith and Ken Fraser to give the Packers a 1-0 lead at 14:09 of the second. That score held up until 4:04 of the third when Randy Knight found the range for the Flames with Doug Bronson and Dave Jackson drawing assists. In the second game, league leading scorer Bill Bridge had a hand in five of the team's seven goals as the Hawkes put the claws to the Trojans, winning 7-4. Bridge opened the scoring with a goal in the first then added an assist as Charlie Durward netted one late in the first. The Trojans also had a pair of markers in the first with Bob Ireland scor- ing from Hall Storry and Dennis Franssen finding the . range with assists to Todd Wilbur and Storry. There was no scoring the second period, but the teams erupted for seven goals in the final frame. The Hawkes took a 4-2 lead on the strength of goals by Brian Carr and Rich Honey, before Rick Wallace teamed with Clark Menzies to reply for the Trojans. But Jay Williams and Bill Bridge scored within 50 seconds late in the game to put it out of reach. Rick Wallace added a final Trojan marker late in the game, and Bridge added his third of the night for good Atoms work hard for 0-0 draw Coach Roy Gowling brought 15 young Scugog soccer - players to the 1st Annual Whitby Select Atom Tournament. Such a tourna- ment gives the better house league players within a club a chance to play together and thus bridges the gap between competitive 'and house league teams. + Our young lads played a very determined first game against the Whitby Select Team and did a great job in earning a 0-0 draw. The slicker moving Whitby team again and again were rebuffed by a superb Scugog defence. Our attack lacked height and weight but cer- tainly not effort. The next game was against the Burlington Select Team and with the number of players they had to draw from, it was obvious they were in a different class from our lads. Their defence were full of large determined boys and the attack had no weak links. The final score .was 10-0 against us but our lads did not give up and must be congratulated on their pluckiness. The Scugog teams was comprised of Ronnie Davis, Graham Sullivan, Glen Page, Neil Mark, Pat Muldoon, Jamie Brown, Derek Fitzgerald, David Petrie, Clayton Hammett, Dean Stone, Peter Brock, Alex Cranmer, Jeff Mills, Ian Thompson and Hercules * Papadogianis.
