In the baseball tournament Valentia won the champion- ship trophy and the Oakwood Bears won the consolation trophy, also Bud Wylie of the Mariposa team won 'the Bruce Kellington memorial trophy for the most valuable player. In the horseshoes, the singles trophy was won by Mr. A. Geoffrey of Port Perry and the Doubles trophy 'was won by Bill Winfield and Gary Fine of Oshawa. Congratulations to all the winners of the day! After all the exertion of the day a dance was held after- wards and there was still energy left to dance. A good time was had by all. A large representation from our com ty was present at the weekend Art and Craft Show held, in Manvers Arena on Saturday and Sunday. All booth spaces were taken up with a waiting list for vacancies should they arise. As usual there was quite an array of original and unique crafts of every shape and size to suit even the' most discriminating tase. Quite an interesting display, Mrs. Ann Hurren and Holly spent the weekend with Ann's sister Norma - Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beggs and family 'in Port Elgin. - Miss Mona Malcolm and Ronnie Sharman spend the weekend with her sister Mitzi - Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fick at. their cottage in Haliburton Lake. Hill was badly injured this week in a tractor accident when the tractor started while in gear and ran over his body causing a broken pelvis and internal injuries. We appreciated (I think) all the sympathetic comments we read concerning our aerial acrobatics and offers to provide employment in the field of brush and paint artistry in a few most inacessible places. Comments ranged from wearing a seat belt on our ladders, a foam mattress in our working area and few other suggestions quite 'imprintable.
