A good crowd attended and generously help to support the Mission and Service work of the church. Mrs. Mary Blackler of Kirkton was guest soloist, who sang two beautiful songs. Ladies don't forget the Lindsay Presbyterial Region Annual Meeting which will be held at Greenbank Church on Thursday May 7 with registrationat9:15a.m. The speaker will be Mrs. Barbara Phair. Theme of the meeting "Angels Unaware." Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Nesbitt, Claremont visited on Saturday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillan then on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Forsythe, Port Perry called on McMillans. The Sunderland Branch of the Canadian Legion held a farewell dinner and social evening on Saturday for Rev. and Mrs. Roundell. They presented them with a mail box. - Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wallace of Stouffville called on Mr. and Mrs. Paul Diamond on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Blackler and son Kirk, of Kirkton where Sunday guests of Rev. and Mrs. Roundell. Mrs. Toni Minton and Mrs. Ann Wannikoff of Manchest- er enjoyed a 6 day Bus trip last week to Washington, Virginia Beach, -Penn- sylvania and other points of interest. A large crowd attended a benefit for Mr. and Mrs. Markham Truax, who recently lost their home, on Friday evening at Wilson's Sales Barn, Uxbridge. Everyone enjoyed the musical talents of Miss Jeanette DeSousa, George Timms, Millstream Barber Shop Singers of Uxbridge, and Mr. . Bill Clark on his fiddle. Further donations may be left with any of the committee, or at the Toronto Dominion Bank Uxbridge. Another work bee will be held at Greenbank Park Saturday morning 9 o'clock. Come on Community members you're needed to help finish up the work for the summer activities. Big Sister Week Big Sisters of Oshawa will be hc'ding a Big Sister Awareness Week during May 11th to 16th. Big Sisters is a Volunteer Program, matching mature females with young girls who are having growing up problems. Activities will include a display at the Oshawa Shopping Centre and our Third Annual Pot Luck Supper.' For further information call Simcoe Hall Settlemnent House at 728-7525. -- OBITUARY -- HAROLD STANLEY CRAWFORD Harold Crawford, a lifelong resident of Black- stock, passed away suddenly at his home March 28th, 1981. He was in his 60th year. Son of the late William and Florence Crawford, he was born May 26th, 1921, and received his education at Blackstock Public and Continuation School. Harold was an employee of General Motors and after 31 years of service was looking retirement. forward to Left to mourn the passing of a devoted husband and father are his wife the former Bessie Edgerton, a daughter Janice of Toronto, and a son Ken at home. Funeral service was held at the McDermott- Panabaker Funeral Home on Monday, March 30th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Rose officiating. The pallbearers were George Carnochan, Garry Venning, Wayne Venning, Stan Rahm, Jim Marlow and Roy Werry.
