The times have already been scheduled and will begin on Tuesday, May 19. Another large porftion of the meeting centered around «+ the club's bid to Township council for money to re- surface the tennis courts. The current.courts are made of asphalt but the PPTC hopes to improve it by putting on a surface that would act as a better cushion for water. The council apparently proposed to put a . new layer of pavement on it but the club discounted that » idea, saying the club would not financially support' a non-tennis playing surface. Mrs. Burt: said she was "rather encouraged by the whole session," but Mr. Acerra; said he felt the council wasn't being very - = helpful. It will cost a family $30 to play tennis within the club this year. The PPTC will take over the courts on Monday, Tuesday, and « gThursday evenings with an allotted court time of 45 minutes for singles and an hour for doubles. Next Monday, evening May 11, the elders of Scugog Pastoral Charge will please meet at the Manchester Church at 8 p.m.' with the ministers and Rev. Macintosh. In expressing our appreci- ation last week to demonstrators at the Art and aft Show, our meaning may have been miscon- strued, as it was our intent to convey gratitude for a busy afternoon given over to add attraction on our behalf. We cannot possibly forget the help and interest we have received in the church from many sources at various times, and in turn it seems fitting to return favours if possible. the members for helping and supporting these series.
