Scugog firefighters say the blaze broke out in the shed, and there was also damage to a utility room at the rear of the house. The exact cause of the fire is not known. There were no "injuries. In addition to the damage to the shed and utility room, there was smoke damage to other parts of the house, and a spokesman for the Scugog department says the total could be as high as $10,000. These students are, in order of rank Iris Nimz, Jim Rowett, and Robert Dantzer and Sandra Huggins tried for third, for the Grade 9 team; and Steve Barton, Jerry Jackman and Gord Haslam for the Grade 10 team. Incidentally, Iris scored the highest mark of any Grade 9 student for the entire district. Well done Jim Rowett placed 6th in the district for Grade 9's, and Steve Barton placed 8th in the district for Grade 10's. the University of Waterloo also awards Certificates of Distinction to students who place in the top ten percent of only the best mathematics students in Canada.
