They returned to the home of Mrs. Richards. of Stouffville where Mrs. Lee is staying. On Saturday even- ing the stewardship commit- tee of York Presbytery were invited to Mrs, Richards home to visit with Mrs. Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Clow and Heather of Lindsay visit- 'ed a few days last week with the Kerry. family. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Benns and children, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Monsma and Bradley all visited their parents Mr. and Mrs. Allen Card during the weekend. Don and Linda Card and children were luncheon guests on Sunday. Rev. John and Doris Hill of Columbus visited on Sunday afternoon with Doris and Tom Armstrong and spent the evening with Don and Stella Asling. Mr. Alpine Christie is in the hospital and Mr. Cumming is home and feel- ing much better. Mr. and Mrs. A. Watson were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Watson and children in Guelph on Saturday. Mrs. Watson and Mrs. ==Jeffery--vigited=Mrs:=R.~ Veitch one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. - Leon Lefebvre celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary October 12.' They were dinner guests with daughter Janine and her friend David. Janine is a member of the Girls team that won the all around Championship for hawa. Mr. Lefebvre visited Thursday and Friday with his sister and brother. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling accompanied their daughter Pat to Guelph on Saturday to participate in the fifth annual agriculture history of Canada seminar. The topic was Religious history of Ontario. I think I shall frame the beautiful - programme I received at our anniversary service yesterday (Psalm 150). We were delighted to find our pianist Ann Tapscott seated at the organ and her music was enjoyed by all. Our minister' Rev. Cliff Pendlebury 'introduced our * former minister (1941-45) Rev. John Hill our guest speaker. The Port Perry Senior Citizens choir sang some very old songs and we enjoyed every minute of it. After the service we all had tea and goodies and a visit. Thanks everyone for a lovely service. Please come back. On Friday evening Peter and Tessa Emmings visited with Shirley and Paul ~ Baster. On Saturday the Sorority group enjoyed a travelling --dinner.-- They-were -enter-- tained at the homes of Mr. and Mrs, Peter Emming, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Baster and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barnett. A Pioneer - Girls group from Toronto wished to visit the country and a farm, They had lunch with Bar-° bara Simmonds then visited the Evans farm with refresh- ments before returning to Toronto. Congratulations to Grant Evans and Steve Ashenhurst who graduated from Uxbridge High School and received diplomas as at the Commencement Saturday. The Evans family had a family party for Grant who was also celebrating a birthday. Anniversary surprise A glorious occasion was held on Saturday, October 25th, when family and friends of Pastor and Mrs. Saunders gathered at Crandell's Riverboat to the couples 40th Wedding - Anniversary. As the Saunders entered, the Wedding March was played and flowers were pinned on by the hostess before ushering them to the ~head-table: There were 45 present and guests came from as far away as London and Brockville. _ Pastor Parks from Ux- bridge's Emmanuel Church blessed the meal after which Mrs. Jacksons sang a tribute to the couple accompanied by her husband Cal, who did a marvellous job as Master of Ceremonies. The cake was presented and a poem offered by Arlene Scudamore, who was the hostess for the occasion. The Saunders, who have resided for twenty-seven years just west of Utica, have raised four sons and two daughters, as well as providing a loving Christian home for many who were in need. Gospel and ministry work have been the stabili- zing factors in their home. Some family history made for light entertainment and all were involved in the cele- bration. Closing remarks were made by Pastor McKinnon of Whitby's Church of the Way.
