|.Nestleton area news by Mabel Cawker Cadmus, Presbyterian, # Nestleton Church Celebrates 135th Anniversary On Sunday, September 21, at 11 a.m, was a joyous and inspirational day for the congregation when they celebrated their 135th anni- LJ t & versary with a splendid attendance. Rev. James A. McKay B.A. from St. Luke's Oshawa was welcomed to the pulpit as anniversary speaker by the regular minister Rev. Fred Swann. Rev. McKay graduated from Knox College in 1968 and received his first appointment in Creemore, Ontario, where he minister- ed until 1972. He was then called to St. Luke's Oshawa, and has been ministering there since that time. He is a dynamic speaker and excellent sermon entitl- ed "Faith, Futurist, and the Bread of Life" was based on Scripture John 6: 1-4 and 32-35; Philippians 3: 7-16. Mrs. Shirley Scott was the organist for the service. The 'arrangements of fall flowers which graced the Sanctuary were contributed by several ladies of the church. Following the meaningful service all present were invited to the lower hall for a buffet luncheon served by the Ladies Aid. Delicious food, warm fellowship, when friendships were renewed made a rewarding fulfilling day. Pausing to reflect re-the ardent workers of Cadmus Presbyterian Nestleton Church, the thought comes to mind-the foundation laid by those of the past, of continu- ing work being done in the present, and a real challenge to the future to continue in the tradition of generations preceeding them. Nestleton United Church In the United Church-Sun- day morning Rev. Victor "Parsons spoke eloquently on ""God's Paradoxes". Soloist Miss Lorinda Jackson sang sweetly '"'Let Us 'Break Bread Together".
