The Official Board will hold a meeting in Utica Church on Thursday, Sept. 12th at 8 p.m. There were 17 tables of euchre played in the hall on Friday evening with winners as follows: Ladies 1st Hilda Edwards, 2nd Vera Brown, low Louie Mitchell. Mens 1st Bill Brown, 2nd Hardy Noble and low to Phyllis Clarke. Freeze-out winners Margaret and Martin Gall 1st with Erma Watson and Lena Ogden 2nd. There will be another .euchre this Fri- day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lind- say had Mr. Lindsay's sister Mary Currah visit them from Minden over the week- end. : The Lindsay-Crowells Reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russ- ell Lindsay R.R.4 Uxbridge. A most enjoyable time was spent by all. There was entertainment for young and old such as races, swimm- ing, baseball, bingo, etc. The main attraction of the day was.a 6 mile trip through scenic country roads on a hayride. The alleys will be opened for business on Septem- ber 15th. 15 YEARS AGO Thursday, September 9, 1965 Harry Phoenix, chairman of the Community Memorial Hospital, recently presented five members of the hospital staff with 10 year service pins. The presentation took place at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Hook at Highland Beach. Receiving the pins were Mrs. Hook, hospital superintendent; Mrs. Louise Elsner; Mrs. Douglas Mackey; Mrs. Wentworth Wat- son; and Mrs. Jack Gray. - "Flettdale Royal Charm", owned by Robert Flett of Oshawa, was judged Junior Champion Female at the annual Black and White Show held at the Port Perry Fair. Mrs. P. Mulligan carefully placed about 70 poppies on the white cross held by Mrs. L. Leahy, while Rev. R.C. Rose called out names of the fallen comrades in two world wars, during the dedication service of the new cenotaph in front of the Legion Hall on Saturday. Manchester News - Mr. and Mrs. James Torrens and children were visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson on their return from a 900 mile trip through Canada and the States. The Queensville Restaurant, Port Perry, was re- cently sold to Mr. and Mrs. Emiel Kroonenberg, for- merly of Toronto. They and their four children have now taken up residence in Port Perry.
