Oliver and Mable Rohrer invited the honoured guests, Harold and Marie out to dine at Lindsay, later escorting them to the Centre where a fine assembly were on hand to greet them. Lorraine Crawford, Osha- wa, had the honour of pinn- ing a corsage on Marie, as she had 25 years ago, which was a pleasant surprise. The evening was spent dancing to the music supp- lied by Brent Johnson, Port Perry, a friend of the Crawford boys. Lovely gifts, cards and a sum of money were present- ed to Harold and Marie. Later delicious refreshments were served complete with a . beautiful anniversary cake. Guests were present from Oshawa, Enniskillen, Black- stock, Port Perry, Peterbor- ough and Nestleton. Those responsible for arranging this gala event were son Ben and Heather Crawford, -Oshawa, sons Steven and Mike from Nes- tleton, as well as local friends. Heartiest congratu- lations and best wishes to Harold and Marie from the area! Decoration Service Attended Mrs. Winnifred Davison, Nestleton and members of the family attended the annual Decoration Service at Union Cemetery, Port Hope, on Sunday, August 10, where Winnifred"s parents are buried. The service was held outside and conducted by Branch No. 30 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Enjoyable Holiday Shirley and Bill Nicholls, Caesarea and son Bill Jr. and wife Mary and daught- ers Teresa and Carol Lee of Oshawa, vacationed at Karl Colbary's on Lake Nosbosing near Corbeil, and were over night guests of friends Tony and Mabel Hole of Huntsville. Sunday guests of the Nicholls were their son Robert of Oshawa and friends and daughter Cathy and husband Steven Bourque and Alexander also of Osha- wa. All enjoyed a steak barbecue and corn roast. Local Folk Attend Convention Al and Kay Brown of Caes- area have recently returned from a Taxidermy Conven- tion and Seminar held for four days in Cleveland, Ohio, where Kay achieved a first and second prize for ceram- ics she entered in a special show. Al displayed some of his species and achieved special mention for a pheas- ant entered in upland game bird division. Warmest con- gratulations to Kay and Al! Johnston-White On Saturday, August 2nd, 1980 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon Rev. Victor Parsons joined in marriage Alison Joan White and Step- hen Doirs Johnston at Nestleton United Church. Alison is the daughter of Madeline and Klomans Sprague of Windsor and Stephen is the son of Joseph- ine and Eric Johnston of Guelph. Both families have been cottages at Scugog Point for seventy years. The bride's attendants were Cheryl Lewis Sprague as. matron of honour and Marge Sprague as maid of honour. Sarah Stephenson White, the bride's daughter . was flower girl. The grooms- men were Peter and Douglas Sprague. Mrs. Gwen Mal- colm played' the wedding music. The guests, all of whom were relatives and friends from the east end of Scugog Point attended a dinner reception afterwards at the summer home of Mrs. Frank T. Mollard, Grand- mother of the bride. Decoration Service Nestleton United A very good attendance at the annual Decoration Service in memory of our loved ones. Rev. Victor Parsons delivered a fitting message entitled "The Con- fident People'. In the choir a trio comprised of Mrs. William Ferguson, Mrs. Harold McLaughlin and Mrs. Lloyd Wright of Blackstock gave a beautiful rendition of the beloved sacred number "The Longer I Serve Him The Sweeter He Grows" much to the enjoyment of the congregation. Organist Mrs. Lawrence Malcolm accom- panied them on the electric organ. Mr. Norman Mairs and Mr. Ralph Sadler received the offering. Nestleton Presbyterian Church On Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Rev. Fred Swann con- tinued with the series on the "Acts of Apostles" leaving those present many splendid thoughts to take home. Mrs. Shirley Scott played the organ for the service. A cordial welcome to attend these meaningful services to one and all. Caesarea Euchre Results High scores for the Wed. evening card party were: 1. Denise Ward-91; 2.
