Mr. Thompson had spent a lot of time in Prince Albert the last few years. Mr. and Mrs. C. Parker and family, Glen, Susan and Ruth were recent dinner guests at the Brook's home prior to Susan's departure to Calgary, Alberta where she has summer employment. Visiting with Bert and Helen Weeden and family for several weeks is his mother, Mrs. Ed Weeden of Prince Edward Island. Welcome back Mrs. Weeden to your home town. The Friendly Visitors Group held their picnic at Poplar Park last week. At this time, Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Snelgrove, teachers of the quilting class, presented the group a cheque for $94.00 #irom the quilt show. Mildred Hope accepted the cheque and expressed a greatful thankyou. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brooks attended a Jack and Jill shower at the home of Fred's niece, Mr. and Mrs. Ross " Shiers at Richmond Hill on Saturday in honour of Fred's great nephew Gary and bride to be Miss Fiona Forsyth. Mr. Bill Armstrong is a patient in Oshawa Hospital _g undergoing a number of tests. Mrs. Merv Pugh and her mother Mrs. Gostick and Mrs. Irene Philip attended the Decoration at Claremont Union Cemetery on Sunday. Mrs. Fred Canning and Lisa, also Beth Hope have been visiting in Geraldton, Vivian's home town. A large crowd attended the Auction Sale of Bud and Helen Heard on Saturday. Sorry you are leaving the area but best of luck to you in Havelock. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Parker of Pembroke were weekend guest at the home of their aunt, Mr. and Mrs. F. Brooks. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Alsop was a brother Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Alsop of Gooderham. Reta Rodman of Oshawa has been visiting with Hugh and Mable Strong. On Sunday they visited at the Rockton Safari. A small reunion was held July 5th at the home of Denise Irvine. Those who attended grew up in the Prince Albert area. They were Valerie Buxcey(nee Heayn), Bonnie Solomon (nee Pugh) Jane MacNeil (nee Huntley), Janet Laxton (nee Postill), Jean Wilson (nee Hope). Larry and Bonnie Postill and Denise Irvine (nee Jeffrey). Also attending was Mrs. Florence Smith who had been Sunday School teacher when these girls had attended Sunday School and Church here.
