On May 21, Darlene placed first again in the Durham Region Shorthand Contest held at Pickering High School. She topped both these achieve- ments by placing first in the Province of Ontario O.B.E.A. shorthand contest with a mark of 107.5 out of a possible 110. © On June 7, Darlene and her mother attended the Pro- vincial 0.B.E.A. Awards Luncheon in Toronto where she received recognition of "her achievement.
